About The Position

The College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences at Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking a skilled Office Manager for its Dean’s Office. This part-time role (28 hours/week) is crucial for managing office operations and events, providing administrative support to the Associate Deans and the college, and coordinating logistics for the college’s buildings and facilities. Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Dean’s Office, including overseeing student office assistants (hiring, training, scheduling, assigning tasks), purchasing supplies, processing service requests and work orders, and reconciling charges in the university’s financial system.
  • Coordinate calendars and meetings for associate deans, assistant deans, and support staff, and arrange food for committee meetings and other events.
  • Support Associate Deans and Dean’s Assistant by organizing, processing, and reporting on university and college grants and awards for faculty and staff; administering the graduate school application fee funding program; and assisting with the coordination of semesterly TA trainings, faculty mentoring lunches, and class visits by the Dean.
  • Provide administrative support for the College, including maintaining college committee lists, directories, and email groups; overseeing class scheduling for large classrooms and computer labs; and administering the college’s Experience Points (XP) program.
  • Support College Events by functioning as an active member of the events team, attending planning meetings, and coordinating holiday and other commemorative events.
  • Coordinate Logistics for College Buildings, including scheduling and conducting quarterly emergency drills, managing reservations, access, and key distribution, and overseeing the annual key audit and perimeter access.
