We are currently hiring a dedicated construction Office Engineer to support curbside improvement projects at LAX airport. This position is based on-site at LAX airport and is responsible for assisting with managing the scope, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design and construction related activities for curbside improvement projects. This position will provide a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support to the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or other related field required.
  • Five (5) years or more experience, preferably on airport projects.
  • Experience with projects more than $50 million in value.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build, Design+CMAR and Design/Build
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.

  • Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the project team in the receipt, distribution, and maintenance of submittals.
  • Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into PM Web, and prepare management information status reports, as required.
  • Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in PM Web, the project management information system.
  • Maintain project files and document/submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies).
  • Collaborate with the contractors to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Distribute documents, submittals, and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to contractors.
  • Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.
  • Complete other responsibilities and assist as assigned to support the project such as attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes), perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log, etc.
