About The Position

The Tsui Group is seeking a qualified and experienced candidate to join our aviation team as an Office Engineer I in Los Angeles County. The Office Engineer provides a broad spectrum of technical and administrative duties primarily associated with submittal and Request for Information (RFI) management as well as construction management support. Supports the project management team (project manager, assistant PM, construction manager, design manager, etc.).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or other related field required
  • 5 years or more experience, preferably on airport projects
  • Experience with projects more than $50 million in value.
  • Experience with various delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build,Design+CMAR and Design/Build
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and a thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam

Nice To Haves

  • Optional certifications may include AAAE, LEED, PE, PMP, AICP, etc. or any other relevant professional license or certifications.
  • Ability to work in CAD or REVIT preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CTA Curbside Improvement Program in the receipt, distribution and maintenance of submittmits.
  • Perform construction contract correspondence, document and plan control function, input data into Prolog, and prepare management information status report, as required.
  • Update and maintain logs for submittals and RFIs in Prolog, the project information system.
  • Maintain project files and document / submittal management systems (hard and electronic copies).
  • Work with the Refresh Contractor(s) to ensure the drawings are posted efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Distribute documents, submittals and RFIs for review; track and compile responses/review comments, obtain management approval and issue responses to Refresh Contractor(s).
  • Manipulate electronic files of various formats to create exhibits for presentations and meetings.
  • Attend and document project meetings (write agendas and minutes).
  • Perform expediting functions, and prepare and maintain an expediting log.
  • May assume other duties as required/needed.
  • Maybe required to work various shifts as needed.
