About The Position

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. TMH is the region's healthcare leader and top provider of advanced care with a 772-bed acute care hospital and the region's only Level II Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatric Intensive Care, and the most advanced cancer, heart and vascular, orthopedic & surgery programs in the Panhandle. The system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices. The Office Coordinator role is crucial in enrolling patients, scheduling appointments according to TMH Sleep Center criteria, collecting and documenting patient payments, and serving as an ambassador for the TMH Sleep Center. This role ensures quality patient care and service through effective telephonic communication, scheduling, patient confidentiality, and direct patient contact, while upholding TMH's I CARE values and contributing to a safe environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience in an office/administrative setting including clerical duties (e.g., typing, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Enrolls patients; schedules patient appointments, adhering to the Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare (TMH) Sleep Center scheduling criteria; collects patient payments and co-payments; and documents payments accurately and timely.
  • Serves as an ambassador for TMH Sleep Center outpatient relationships; creates a sense of efficiency, caring, trust, and professionalism with patients and their families.
  • Ensures quality patient care and service related to telephonic communication, scheduling, patient confidentiality, and direct patient contact.
  • Displays an understanding of diversity.
