About The Position

The Office Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Self-Governance Department. This position is responsible for coordinating office activities, maintaining records, supporting meetings and communications, and assisting with the implementation of Tribal Self-Governance initiatives. The Office Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for Tribal departments, federal agencies, community members, and other stakeholders while ensuring the efficient and confidential operation of the department.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of office administration principles and practices
  • Experience maintaining confidential records, databases, spreadsheets, and electronic filing systems; knowledge of records management and document retention practices with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including group presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and office management software
  • Ability to prepare reports, meeting agendas, and correspondence professionally
  • Demonstrated ability of strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Ability to adapt to changing technologies and office systems
  • Experience coordinating meetings, events, and logistical arrangements
  • Demonstrated experience preparing reports, correspondence, presentations, and other business documents
  • Experience processing purchase orders, invoices, budget tracking, vendor coordination, or other financial and procurement-related activities
  • Experience in federal procurement processes, managing federal deadlines, and administering grants from pre-award through closeout, including financial tracking, reporting, and stakeholder coordination
  • Experience working with grant management software required

  • Understanding of Tribal sovereignty, self-governance and Native American governmental structures

Responsibilities
