Reporting to the Manager, the AP Office Coordinator provides secretarial support to Pathologists and other staff members in the Anatomic Pathology department. This role works independently under general supervision and is responsible for providing secretarial and administrative support services such as receiving visitors, scheduling meetings, conferences, and maintaining the pathologist’s calendar. The coordinator also types correspondence, prepares spreadsheets and presentations, and conducts special projects as assigned. Under general supervision and following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, the AP Office Coordinator is responsible for the receipt, correlation, and delivery of specimens and reports. They adhere to biological and safety policies, have knowledge of medical transcription, perform troubleshooting and quality assurance monitoring, maintain surgical pathology files and records, follow detailed procedures, and perform all computer functions. This role is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.
