About The Position

The Office Clerk performs a variety of administrative functions in the Alaska plant office in support of manufacturing operations. Effective December 1, 2024, Office Clerks residing in Trident housing will be subject to a co-pay of $15 per day for room and board, for each day that at least 8 hours of work is offered.

Requirements

  • Must be a current Trident Seafoods employee or have worked for Trident Seafoods before
  • Ability to learn and use appropriate software applications which includes but is not limited to Excel, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, timekeeping systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to read, speak, write and understand English, and to use customer service skills.
  • Ability to use interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to use creativity, independent judgment, discretion, and problem analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with plant office operations including but not limited to answering phones, supporting Trident staff, governmental and plant production reporting, shipping, preparation of payrolls, and a variety of clerical and administrative services.
  • Maintains ongoing contact with fishermen, employees, local vendors, and customers which may vary by location.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
