About The Position

This position performs complex administrative/management support tasks with discretionary authority, independently making decisions that substantially impact operations within and outside the designated unit/program. The role administratively supervises comprehensive office operations and support staff for the department/unit.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1 year progressively responsible work-related experience
  • Eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship for work authorization or visas is not available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the undergraduate programs of the Mathematics & Statistics department, including overseeing all administrative aspects, scheduling courses, assigning rooms, maintaining student records, processing petitions, preparing bulletin information, tracking degree progress, developing administrative tools, and collecting data for ABET accreditation.
  • Provide administrative support for the graduate programs of the Mathematics & Statistics department, including overseeing all administrative aspects, processing applications, preparing acceptance/denial documents, communicating with incoming students, tracking student progress, interacting with the Registrar, maintaining student records, preparing bulletin information, scheduling courses, assigning rooms, maintaining a database of graduate student records, and developing administrative tools.
  • Oversee the Mathematics & Statistics department's office operations, ensuring exemplary customer service, problem resolution, and intra-departmental communication. Provide administrative support for reappointment, tenure, promotion, and faculty search processes. Hire, train, and supervise student workers.
  • Provide administrative support for the Mathematics & Statistics department leadership, including preparing administrative documents, scheduling advisory board meetings, maintaining a database of advisory board members, preparing minutes, maintaining a donor database, managing teaching evaluations, coordinating website maintenance, developing a department newsletter, and coordinating with College personnel.
  • Manage the non-laboratory physical plant for the Mathematics & Statistics department, including room assignments, phone number assignments, coordinating office maintenance, and identifying office equipment needs. Coordinate laboratory physical plant needs with faculty.
  • Work closely with the Undergraduate Coordinator and the CEPS Center for Student Success as needed for undergraduate programs.
  • Assist with special projects, including researching, developing, and finalizing reports/surveys. Serve on College and University committees as appropriate.
