Brooklyn Public Library’s (BPL) Adult Learning Department is given very specific performance targets which are used to assess the effectiveness of the program and eligibility for funding. The Office Associate II, will manage the required automated data systems for collection and recording programmatic data - personnel information for instructional and administrative staff; program inventory, maintain book collections; student assessment data, including initial testing and follow up testing data; contact/attendance hours; and outcome survey data – that will be utilized by the department to advance program achievement of mandated performance targets, including decision-making, evaluation, and reporting. The Office Associate II will work collaboratively with the Adult Learning Center team, volunteers, instructors, dept. staff, and participants enrolled at the Central Adult Learning Center groups, classes and related programs to support the gathering of accurate and timely data and the efficacy of instructional staff utilizing the data collection systems. Other key responsibilities include performance of general office duties, managing inventory of assessment and instructional materials processing, supplies, equipment, collections, assisting participants, triaging multi phone lines, shared email accounts, registrations, outreach, and covering groups in absence of tutors, etc. The Office Associate II should have a thorough knowledge of databases, Salesforce, Google Drive, Microsoft Access, Excel, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills. The Office Associate II can be responsible for supervising clerical staff.
