About The Position

Our dedicated team is looking for a brilliant, friendly, and customer service-oriented individual with a strong office management background to serve as our Office Assistant. Performs a wide variety of responsible clerical, administrative and technical support duties in a manner that demonstrates a commitment to providing excellent customer service. Some of the work may be complex; some work may require knowledge specific to the department/division. May serve as a lead worker.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or successful completion of the GED.
  • Ability to efficiently use a computer and other office equipment to complete tasks.
  • Good knowledge of office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Good understanding of business arithmetic and English.
  • Ability to learn complex computer programs.
  • Ability to maintain records and attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse populations.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
  • Must successfully pass a background check before any offer of employment or promotion.
