About The Position

The University of New Mexico Dean of Students Office is seeking a self-motivated, professional, and reliable individual to provide professional customer service and reception support. Our office directs the Nusenda Center for Financial Capability, Office of Student Rights & Responsibilities, Student Well-Being, and other programs designed to help students achieve their academic goals. As an Office Assistant, you’ll help keep our office running smoothly and assist students in navigating university services. This position starts in Fall 2026. Applicants must be available in Fall 2026. Work-study is preferred but not required for consideration. Applicants must be able to work in-person on Main Campus during regular business hours Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM.

  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Adobe Acrobat and Banner experience is a plus.
  • Experience in an office environment

Responsibilities

  • Greets students, staff, faculty, and visitors
  • Answers multi-line phones and receives in-person inquiries in a professional manner.
  • Maintains a log of inquiries, calls, and other communications
  • Opens and routes incoming & outgoing mail
  • Performs clerical, data entry, and word processing work
  • Answers general email inquiries on behalf of the office
  • Assists with records management, including filing, copying, and scanning
  • Schedules or assists in scheduling appointments, meetings, and/or conference room reservations
  • Runs various campus errands
  • Addresses student inquiries and provides intake for department staff.
