About The Position

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking an organized and detail-oriented person to serve as the Office Assistant in the Record Office at Danville Correctional Center. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple parties. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one (1) year of related office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard accurately at 35 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Keyboards all correspondence requests and other documents necessary in the Record Office using Microsoft Office Programs and Outlook.
  • Prints and distributes disciplinary reports from Disciplinary Tracking.
  • Assists in the maintenance of records to include filing, recording of various reports/documents and data in each master record file.
  • Acts as a liaison between facilities for problems on disciplinary reports, communicating orally and in writing when necessary.
  • Assists in other daily clerical functions of the Record Office to include keyboarding, copying, distributing, and sorting various documents, reports, and miscellaneous correspondence.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
