About The Position

Shenandoah Community Health (SCH) is a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to bridging gaps in healthcare access by addressing challenges such as cost, transportation, and language barriers. We ensure everyone in our community receives the care they need through a comprehensive range of services including primary care for adults and children, women's health, behavioral health, and oral health. We are looking for a Patient Navigator to join our team.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Must have excellent data entry and computer skills, including experience with Medical Manager, Athena.
  • Must have strong communication and customer service skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college coursework in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Previous experience performing reception duties is preferred.
  • Prior experience scheduling patients and dealing with medical records is preferred.
  • Bilingual English-to-Spanish and Spanish-to-English preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Navigate all patients in the waiting area, including greeting patients and directing them to the appropriate line for check-in.
  • Schedule and check in Health Express patients and Express Check-Ins.
  • Cover lunches as requested in times of need.
  • Greet clients in a courteous manner.
  • Attend the waiting area ensuring client wait times are minimal.
  • Answer client questions and direct them to the appropriate workstation for continued registration.
  • Complete Express Check-Ins and Create / Check-in Health Express clients for providers in a timely manner.
  • Collect co-pays and process transactions for medical record copying fees as needed.
  • File patient information in an accurate and organized manner, ensuring other medical personnel can easily locate documents in the EHR.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all client information.
  • Maintain the new client waitlist to ensure accuracy and timely processing of new patient appointments.
  • Resolve day-to-day issues as required, ensuring high-quality services.
  • Schedule patient transportation.
