About The Position

Under immediate supervision, assists in various school program functions. This role involves implementing behavior modification plans, assisting with student discipline and threat assessments, supervising students, maintaining the physical environment of the school, performing clerical tasks, compiling data for reports, logging information, operating standard office equipment, and conforming to safety standards. The position may involve tasks related to Student Information Systems, the lunchroom, playground, school office, and behavior room.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of CPR/AED and Universal Precautions.
  • Ability to learn and apply established procedures.
  • Ability to learn and use various types of office equipment/machines.
  • Ability to interpret and apply oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to perform routine record keeping.
  • Ability to complete work rapidly and accurately.
  • Ability to meet predetermined deadlines.
  • Ability to plan and organize work assignments.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to work flexible hours or shifts.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work cooperatively with employees, students, and parents.
  • Ability to recognize and report hazards and apply safe work methods.
  • Possess physical and mental stamina commensurate with the responsibilities of the position.
  • High school graduation or another equivalent (i.e., GED, college, technical or trade school transcript, foreign equivalency, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Implement behavior modification plans designed to help individuals improve their behavior and learn new skills.
  • Assist the Principal and Dean of Students by recommending disciplinary action for students, investigating referrals, documenting and maintaining proper paperwork while supporting a positive and productive climate and culture.
  • Assist the principal and school Dean in conducting threat assessments using District guidelines.
  • Assist with the supervision of students in the lunchroom and on the playground.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the physical environment of the school.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks such as filing, answering the telephone, etc.
  • Compile information and/or data for reports.
  • Log information on forms to record the transaction.
  • Operate standard office equipment.
  • Conform to safety standards as prescribed.
  • Assist with car line before and/or after school as needed.
  • Perform other tasks related to the position as assigned.
  • Perform tasks associated with programs such as Student Information Systems (Infinite Campus if needed), Lunchroom, Playground, School office, and Behavior room.
