About The Position

This position is responsible for entry-level, semi-skilled tasks in the live receiving department, overseeing the filling of meat and feather loads and monitoring the plant vacuum transport system. The role ensures foreign material is removed before emptying loads into trailers, all while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Responsibilities include keeping the offal area clean, monitoring conveyors, backing trailers and tankers into the loading area, loading blood, meat, or feathers, draining excess water from filled trailers/tankers, and raking feathers down before tarping. The operator must also keep roller screens and floors clean. This role requires the ability to work in various environmental conditions and perform physical tasks for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in a dusty, cold, hot, damp, humid, wet environment with a high concentration of allergens.
  • Ability to stand for 10 to 12 hours a day.
  • Ability to grasp, grip, twist, pull, bend, and stoop occasionally.
  • Must have a valid State Driver's License.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • No DUI/DWI’s within the last 12 months.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and complete confined space training and become certified.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Must be able to communicate with vendors and department heads as needed.
  • Must be able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior forklift experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the filling of meat and feather loads.
  • Monitor the plant vacuum transport system to ensure foreign material is removed.
  • Keep the offal area clean and free from debris.
  • Monitor conveyors that move product to trailers.
  • Back trailers and tankers into the loading area.
  • Load blood, meat, or feathers.
  • Drain excess water from filled trailers and tankers.
  • Rake feathers down even with the top of the trailer before placing a tarp over it.
  • Keep roller screens and floors clean, both inside and outside the Offal area.
  • Operate a forklift (prior experience preferred).
  • Drive a Commercial Truck on Company property (requires valid State Driver's License, be 18 years of age, and no DUI/DWI's within the last 12 months).
  • Work in confined spaces and complete confined space training and certification.
  • Communicate with vendors and department heads as needed.
  • Work under minimal supervision.
