About The Position

The Sales Application Engineer is a key team member on our OEM sales team. The SAE supports the selling process by providing technical expertise on Woodward products and solutions. The SAE assesses client needs, recommends appropriate products, and helps design custom solutions to meet specific customer requirements. They also collaborate with internal engineering, sales, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless project delivery, prepare technical documentation and proposals, and address customer inquiries or troubleshooting requests. They may conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and stay updated on industry trends to offer informed guidance. The ideal candidate will have industrial power generation experience.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with application software and related technical tools.
  • Ability to effectively support and address customer inquiries and issues, seeking internal support and assistance as appropriate.
  • Utilizing standard procedures to identify and resolve common technical problems.
  • Clearly conveying information and instructions to team members and customers.
  • Assessing data and application performance to inform decision making.
  • Ensuring accuracy in application, configuration, and documentation retention.
  • Effectively prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines and project milestones.
  • Working cooperatively with colleagues and senior engineers to achieve objectives.
  • Quickly adapting to new technologies and processes.
  • Maintaining thorough and organized records of procedures, issues, and solutions.
  • Must be a U.S. Person within the meaning of ITAR and EAR, or eligible to obtain all required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to explain product features and benefits to potential customers.
  • Identifies and addresses standard technical problems using established procedures to minimize customer dissatisfaction and disruption.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for customers, providing expert consultation and developing solutions that address specific operational challenges.
  • Support sales teams with technical presentations, proposal development, and competitive analysis to maximize revenue and customer wallet.
  • Keeps accurate records of application configurations, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions for future reference.
  • Assists customers by responding to queries and offering technical guidance for existing products and applications.
