About The Position

The OEM Business Manager serves as Spradling’s commercial leader and brand ambassador within the heavy‑duty truck and broader transportation OEM ecosystem. This role is responsible for driving strategic growth, strengthening Spradling’s presence at major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and ensuring our materials are specified into future vehicle programs. The position blends high‑level relationship management, technical-commercial expertise, program leadership, and market development. The OEM Business Manager will protect and grow existing businesses, secure new opportunities, influence product roadmaps, and ensure Spradling is recognized as the preferred vinyl solutions partner across the industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Marketing, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in OEM or Tier 1 sales, business development, key account management, or commercial leadership.
  • Experience influencing OEM design cycles, sourcing decisions, and material specifications.
  • Demonstrated success managing Tier 1 suppliers, including commercial agreements, program launches, and long‑term relationships.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional teams (engineering, quality, R&D, operations) in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to build long‑term account strategies and drive profitable growth.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation, pricing strategy, and margin management.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to balance customer needs and company objectives.
  • Executive‑level communication and presence.
  • Ability to influence OEM engineering, design, procurement, and leadership teams.
  • Skilled at building trust, credibility, and long‑term partnerships.

  • Additional certifications in program management, automotive quality systems, or commercial negotiation are a plus.
  • Background in interior materials, vinyl, laminates, textiles, plastics, or automotive components strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Spradling’s primary ambassador to OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, ensuring our brand is recognized, respected, and positioned as a leader in vinyl and laminated solutions.
  • Maintain and grow existing Tier 1 accounts through proactive engagement, strategic planning, and continuous value delivery.
  • Lead direct outreach to OEM engineering, design, procurement, and program teams to secure Spradling specifications on future platforms.
  • Build long‑term strategic relationships with senior decision‑makers, influencers, and product creation leaders.
  • Ensure Spradling materials are evaluated, approved, and specified into upcoming OEM programs.
  • Track OEM product cycles, design reviews, and sourcing timelines to position Spradling early in the decision process.
  • Present technical capabilities, sustainability advantages, and performance benefits to OEM engineering and design teams.
  • Advocate for Spradling solutions in competitive sourcing environments.
  • Oversee all commercial and program‑related activities for assigned OEM and Tier 1 accounts.
  • Ensure timely follow‑up on samples, testing, validation, and program milestones.
  • Lead claim resolution efforts with urgency and professionalism, coordinating with quality and technical teams to protect customer satisfaction and brand reputation.
  • Monitor program profitability and ensure commercial alignment throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies that expand Spradling’s footprint within heavy‑duty truck and adjacent transportation segments.
  • Identify new applications, new platforms, and new product opportunities that align with OEM needs and market trends.
  • Drive profitable revenue growth by balancing customer value, competitive positioning, and internal cost structures.
  • Lead negotiations for pricing, long‑term agreements, and commercial terms.
  • Partner with R&D, product management, engineering, and operations to translate customer needs into new product concepts and adjacent product development opportunities.
  • Provide market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to guide innovation and strategic planning.
  • Support new product launches with customer presentations, technical reviews, and commercial alignment.
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, sustainability requirements, and competitive activity within heavy‑duty truck and transportation markets.
  • Represent Spradling at industry events, trade shows, and customer forums to strengthen brand visibility and identify new opportunities.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and materials that could influence future OEM requirements.
