About The Position

The OCS Engineer is responsible for managing the Overhead Contact System (OCS) scope from design through construction, testing, and commissioning of the project. This role involves overseeing subcontractors, managing procurement and delivery of equipment, and ensuring the successful execution of OCS-related tasks within rail projects. The position requires a strong understanding of rail systems, electrical codes, and project management principles, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • 5–10 years’ experience in rail projects, Signal/Train Control required.
  • Knowledge of current electrical codes and standards.
  • Thorough understanding of Signal/Train Control systems used in transit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Analytical, creative problem-solving abilities; transparent communicator.

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical PE preferred
  • CADD experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage OCS scope, design, procurement, installation, and testing to meet project and customer requirements.
  • Oversee OCS subcontractors, billings, change proposals, and project closeout documentation.
  • Support Construction Managers with installation plans, drawings, and QA/QC compliance.
  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of OCS and Traction Power equipment.
  • Manage testing, commissioning, and integrated systems testing.
  • Maintain strong relationships with owners, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Promote team discipline, morale, and collaboration.
