About The Position

The Ocean Export Specialist will handle LCL and FCL shipments for customers, managing all aspects from booking to billing. This role involves accurately processing export documentation, preparing quotes, sourcing transportation methods, and communicating with overseas agents to ensure proper pre-alerts and documentation. The specialist will also explore options to reduce costs and increase revenues, track and trace shipments, maintain shipment files, and ensure timely costing and billing. A strong emphasis on customer satisfaction and professional relationships with shipping lines, truckers, and other vendors is expected.

Requirements

• Better than average understanding of the Export Regulations and other government agency regulations that govern exports.
• Working knowledge of all ocean export procedures, rules and regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• IMDG certified

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of Cargowise One is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Handle LCL and FCL shipments for customers in all aspects, from booking to billing.

• Demonstrate an emphasis on customer satisfaction.
• Maintain shipment files throughout the process and ensure costing and billing are completed timely.
