As an Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA), you’ll support the delivery of high‑quality rehabilitative care under the supervision of a Licensed Occupational Therapist. In this hands‑on clinical role, you’ll help patients regain independence, improve functional abilities, and safely transition toward their recovery goals. Requirements

  • Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant required
  • Eligible for or currently holds OTA licensure in the State of Oklahoma
  • BLS certification required
  • Previous OTA experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Typing and basic computer skills required

Responsibilities

  • Implementing patient care in a knowledgeable, skillful manner while maintaining high‑quality performance.
  • Providing appropriate assistance, verbal cueing, and support to optimize patient performance.
  • Instructing patients and caregivers in treatment procedures, home programs, and the use of adaptive or special equipment using clear verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Documenting patient performance accurately and efficiently in the medical record per policy and regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviewing patient medical records and collaborating with multidisciplinary team members regarding patient condition and progress.
  • Communicating effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist regarding patient performance, changes in condition, and goal attainment.
  • Demonstrating competence in preparing and using adaptive and assistive equipment (e.g., lift devices, gait belts, orthotics, prosthetics, oxygen tanks, paraffin, splinting supplies).
  • Cleaning and storing equipment according to hospital and department policies.
  • Practicing effective problem‑solving and keeping appropriate team members informed of pertinent issues.
  • Responding appropriately to stressful or emergency situations while following policies and maintaining composure.
  • Demonstrating knowledge and compliance with isolation, biohazard, and PPE procedures.
  • Providing safe, appropriate assistance during patient transfers and requesting help when needed.
  • Delivering care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and elderly patients in accordance with competency standards.
