About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Long Term Care (LTC) for a 13-week travel assignment in Newton, TX. This role involves supporting patient well-being, rehabilitation, and recovery by providing direct support to an occupational therapist. The OTA will implement therapeutic interventions, monitor client progress, assist with documentation, help clients adapt environments, and educate clients and caregivers on adaptive strategies.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years COTA experience.
LTC or Rehab experience.
TX State License or Compact required.
Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment.
Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability.
Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
Must pass a drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Implement therapeutic interventions and activities, including fine motor exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, adaptive equipment training, and sensory integration activities.
Monitor client progress and report outcomes to the supervising OT.
Assist with documentation such as progress notes and outcomes reporting.
Help clients adapt their environments or approaches.
Educate clients and caregivers on adaptive strategies, home exercise programs, or assistive devices.
Prepare equipment/devices and ensure safety during interventions and treatment sessions.
Participate in required meetings including patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, and rehabilitation meetings.
Participate in facility and company required trainings, in-services, and conferences.
Obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.
Supervise and support CFY or Student Speech-Language Pathologists.
Adhere to ASHA and State Required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics during professional practice.
