Occupational Therapy Assistant PRN
About The Position
Innovate Rehab and Wellness is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for a PRN position in a Skilled Nursing Facility. As a COTA, you will support the delivery of high-quality OT services, helping residents regain independence and improve their quality of life. You will provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The role emphasizes one-on-one patient care and offers a flexible, as-needed schedule designed to support work-life balance. Requirements
- Associate’s degree from an accredited OTA program
- Current NBCOT certification
- Valid state license as an Occupational Therapy Assistant
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Committed to patient-centered care and rehab excellence
Nice To Haves
- SNF or long-term care experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans created by the Occupational Therapist
- Provide direct patient care per state and facility guidelines
- Monitor and document resident progress; report changes to the OT
- Educate residents and caregivers on adaptive techniques and equipment
- Collaborate with nursing, PT, SLP, and other healthcare staff
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR
- Participate in care planning and discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and all regulations
