About The Position

This is an open-pooled position. Applicants' education/experience will be considered and the position may be filled at a lower or higher level, as appropriate. The Occupational Therapist Assistant provides treatment to patients relative to age, culture and condition in assigned clinical area. They document patient treatment and progress, appropriately in the medical record, ensuring documentation meets peer review requirements. They communicate pertinent patient information with the supervising occupational therapist, patient, family members, physicians, team members, and other disciplines. They participate in rounds, clinics, and case conferences as assigned and meet required competencies for assigned areas. They delegate duties and monitor service delivery appropriately to Rehabilitation Aides and supervise occupational therapy assistant students as requested. The Senior Occupational Therapist Assistant also participates in training and mentoring of entry-level occupational therapy assistants and participates in and provides in-service/continuing education/research, teaching opportunities at department, state or national levels. They also participate and assist with data gathering for quality assurance activities as requested. Both roles adhere to internal controls and reporting structure.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensed or eligible for license in the State of Texas.
  • 0-3 years related experience (for OTA).
  • 5 years related experience (for Senior OTA).

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience preferred (for supervising students).
