Occupational Therapy Assistant - Yonkers, NY
About The Position
FOX Rehabilitation is hiring licensed Occupational Therapy Assistants to provide hands-on care to older adults in Yonkers, NY and surrounding communities. Using FOX’s Geriatric House Calls™ model, OTAs deliver care in patients’ homes and senior living communities, working closely with a supervising Occupational Therapist and an interdisciplinary team that includes PTs, OTs, SLPs, and Fitness Specialists. The role offers one-on-one patient care, mentorship, collaborative care planning, and opportunities to develop clinical skills and career pathways. FOX offers full-time, part-time, and PRN/FOX Flex employment options. The standard base pay range in New York is $21.63–$36.06 per hour, with opportunities to earn more.
Requirements
- Hold a valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of practice, or be eligible to obtain one.
- Graduate from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Have current CPR certification.
- Have basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Meet the physical demands of in-home and community-based care, including lifting, performing CPR, assisting with patient transfers and bed mobility, and extensive walking and other movement.
Responsibilities
- Deliver individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist, adjusting activities based on patient response and progress.
- Instruct, motivate, and safeguard patients during therapeutic exercises and functional activities; observe and track their progress.
- Document visits accurately and on time in FOX’s EMR system according to Clinical Documentation standards.
- Stay connected with patients, their POAs, and community referral sources, and help coordinate coverage when needed.
- Provide in-home and community-based care, including driving to patient homes and senior living communities.
