About The Position

The Occupational Therapy Assistant at MultiCare is an excellent opportunity to provide direct patient treatment under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. This role offers you the capacity to apply your service orientation and good judgment toward the comprehensive care of occupational therapy patients. MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital has served the Yakima Valley since 1950. This 226-bed, not-for-profit hospital features a multispecialty team across 20+ primary and specialty care locations, providing cardiac care, cancer care, pediatric trauma care, hospice and advanced care for children with special health needs. Requirements

  • Licensed as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant in the State of Washington

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in adult rehabilitative services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform occupational therapy treatment procedures, modalities, and occupational training for the purpose of improving functional ability
  • Confer with OT prior to beginning a treatment program regarding goals, plans of treatment, treatment procedures, modalities, and precautions
  • Contact the supervising OT when direct intervention is needed to change an occupational therapy treatment plan or when medical problems exist that necessitate attention
  • Provide recommendations for assistive devices and equipment as needed to improve function and independence at home
  • Observe, record, and report the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition, preparing clinical progress notes in accordance with departmental policy
  • Consult with other members of the rehabilitation team and other health care personnel to provide a collaborative therapeutic approach consistent with the needs of each patient
