About The Position

Texas Rehabilitation of Plano, part of Lifepoint Health, is opening a brand-new 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility in 2026. We are seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, compassionate, evidence-based care for a wide variety of adult and geriatric patients requiring an adult medical rehabilitation program. Our team is dedicated to making communities healthier and offers a supportive environment for employees to provide exceptional patient care.

Requirements

  • Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state where the hospital is located.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.

  • Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of patients treated by Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and occupational therapy students.
  • May orient staff and students and assume supervisory duties in their absence, if qualified.
  • Assesses patient needs, identifies and initiates appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
  • Works cooperatively with other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Observes and evaluates treatment effects and progress towards short and long-term goals, recommending changes to the physician if needed.
  • Performs appropriate patient assessments and reassessments as per policy.
  • Performs accurate and timely QI scoring.
  • Assesses patient pain interfering with optimal function and participation in rehabilitation, implementing interventions and contacting physicians for further intervention as needed.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Reports patient progress and barriers to discharge in patient team conferences.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
