About The Position
The Occupational Therapist helps people of all ages participate in activities and occupations that are important to them. The role routinely works with individuals whose physical, cognitive, developmental, or emotional challenges affect their ability to perform everyday tasks. This is a patient-care position based onsite at 300 First Avenue, with a day shift and per-diem employee status. Scheduled weekly hours are 0. The listed pay range is $52.53–$57.59 per hour.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
- Massachusetts occupational therapy license.
- American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Ability to work effectively with patients and co-workers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
Nice To Haves
- 0–1 year of occupational therapist experience preferred.
- 0–1 year of experience in a residential or assisted living setting or skilled nursing facility preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ physical, mental, and developmental abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessments.
- Implement and monitor treatment plans, adjusting them as needed.
- Educate patients and their families about therapeutic activities and exercises they can do at home.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and progress notes.
- Attend staff meetings, continuing education programs, and professional development activities to stay current with techniques and best practices.
