About The Position

The Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR- PRN) works to ensure the identification and accommodation of eligible children (birth to 36 months old). The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluation and/or treatment programming for infants and toddlers who live in the catchment area of the program, which includes Fort Bend and Waller Counties. The OTR treatment for enrolled children is recommended by the interdisciplinary team and may include complex treatment procedures, documenting patient progress in chart, oral motor, motor/reflex development, positioning, sensory, assistive technology devices/service and conferring regularly with their ECI Team members. The OTR supervises assigned Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) as needed, according to the Texas Occupational Therapist Act and Rules requirements. The position works under the direction of ECI Program Managers. The OT is responsible and accountable for the adherence to and promotion of the compliance policy.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapist, Registered license from the Texas State Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners
  • Valid, Current Texas Driver License
  • Knowledge of infant/child development
  • Knowledge of early intervention techniques
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Knowledge of assessment techniques
  • Interpersonal skills for positive interaction with individuals
