About The Position

Texas Health Rockwall is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their team. This full-time position involves providing age-appropriate patient assessments and treatment plans in a collaborative hospital environment. The hospital offers a range of services including acute medical and surgical care, a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, a bariatric clinic, an ambulatory surgery center, a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, updated labor and delivery suites, a cardiac catheterization lab, an interventional radiology suite, additional surgery suites, and expanded emergency and intensive care areas. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program is required
  • OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire is required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Basic leadership skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in inpatient/acute care is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Performs age appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient assessment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
  • Demonstrates competence in the performance of age appropriate patient treatment and individualizes care based on age specific needs
  • Motivates non-compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy
  • Utilizes available resources (equipment, support personnel, educational resources) to maximize efficiency and productivity and to meet personal developmental needs
  • As required, participates appropriately in departmental safety drills / emergency procedures
  • Documents and reports unusual occurrences, on the job injuries, and medical device malfunctioning
