About The Position

IU Health is seeking passionate, compassionate, and dedicated individuals to join their team. This PRN position is located at Jay Hospital in Portland, IN, providing both inpatient and outpatient therapy services. Therapists may be required to split time between inpatient and outpatient settings based on patient volume. New and upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • Requires graduation from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy, or graduation from an international occupational therapy education program with coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
  • Requires current license in the State of Indiana.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.
  • Experience in treating neurological and orthopedic conditions is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Great bedside manners
  • Adaptable to fast paced settings

Responsibilities

  • Provides occupational therapy services for the treatment of physical and psychological dysfunctions.
  • Provides direct patient care using a variety of sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning.
  • Appropriately supervises occupational therapy assistants, support personnel and students.
  • Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.
  • Provides services for inpatient and outpatient.
  • Outpatient OT and PT including neuro rehabilitation, orthopedics, and vestibular rehabilitation are among the services offered here.
