About The Position

Creative Speech Solutions, LLC is seeking experienced, part-time Occupational Therapists to join their pediatric therapy center in Summit, NJ. Occupational therapists at CSS specialize in treating children with a wide variety of diagnoses and levels of functioning. The role involves providing evaluations and direct therapy for the pediatric population in a school-based setting, including one-on-one and group sessions. Common diagnoses treated include Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Apraxia, cerebral palsy, Global Developmental Delay, and Sensory Processing Disorder.

Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Satisfactory completion of Certification Examination of National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapists (Maintenance of registration required).
NJ State License and NJ BOE School Certificate.
Minimum of two years of work experience in pediatric private practice and/or school setting.
Experience in treating sensory processing disorders, motor planning difficulties, decreased strength, and gross motor skills, as well as visual motor and fine motor skills.
Effective communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
A strong desire to work with children with developmental disabilities.
Patience, persistence and ability to work independently and as an integral part of a team.

Nice To Haves

Certification or continuing education in The Listening Program, Handwriting Without Tears, Visual Processing disorders, splints.

Responsibilities

Providing evaluations and direct therapy for the pediatric population in a school-based setting.
Conducting one-on-one/group sessions with children.
Writing daily notes, progress notes, evaluations, and reports.
Treatment collaboration.
Case management.
IEP development.
Adherence to all NJ state special education laws.
Creating home exercise programs.
Counseling caretakers.
Collaborating with speech therapists, school therapists, and teachers.
