About The Position

Glendive Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Rehabilitation Services team. In this role, you'll work with patients of all ages to develop the skills needed for daily living, recovery, and independence. From evaluating functional abilities to creating individualized treatment plans, you'll make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and their families. This position offers the opportunity to practice across a variety of settings while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering exceptional care close to home.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Montana Occupational Therapy license
  • Current registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or eligibility for licensure
  • Strong communication, organization, and critical-thinking skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record documentation

  • One year of occupational therapy experience
  • Experience working in inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, or rural healthcare settings
  • Passion for helping patients achieve greater independence
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Leadership skills and the ability to supervise support staff and students
  • Creativity in developing individualized treatment approaches

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and develop individualized plans of care
  • Design and deliver treatment programs that improve function, mobility, coordination, strength, and independence
  • Train patients in adaptive techniques and the use of assistive devices for daily activities
  • Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to support patient needs
  • Fabricate and fit splints, slings, and other adaptive devices as appropriate
  • Evaluate and treat patients with neurological, orthopedic, developmental, and cognitive conditions
  • Conduct home assessments and recommend safety modifications when needed
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, energy conservation, joint protection, and safe mobility techniques
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record
  • Collaborate with providers, therapists, families, schools, care facilities, and community partners
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and student learners
  • Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and patient support activities
