Requirements

  • Graduate of an Occupational Therapy program accredited by ACOTE
  • Eligible for or certified by NBCOT
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the State of Oregon
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patient functional abilities and daily living skills
  • Develop individualized treatment plans to improve independence
  • Teach patients adaptive strategies and new ways to complete daily activities
  • Identify home safety risks and recommend modifications or equipment
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe mobility and self-care
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and therapy team members
  • Evaluating patient functional status and independence with daily activities
  • Assessing home environments for safety risks and barriers
  • Developing individualized treatment plans and therapy goals
  • Teaching adaptive techniques for daily living skills
  • Recommending and training patients on assistive equipment
  • Educating caregivers and family members
  • Supervising Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants when appropriate
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary home health team
