About The Position

Sheridan Community Hospital is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Rehabilitation Services team. This role supports patients across inpatient, outpatient, and short-term rehabilitation (swing bed) settings, helping individuals regain independence and improve daily function. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Occupational Therapist seeking flexible PRN hours in a supportive, community-focused hospital environment. Sheridan Community Hospital is a 22-bed critical access hospital committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care close to home. Our rehabilitation team plays an important role in supporting recovery and improving quality of life for patients across Sheridan and surrounding rural communities.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Current Michigan Occupational Therapist (OT) license required
  • Current CPR certification required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across care teams
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing patient needs and schedules

Nice To Haves

  • One year of experience in short-term rehab, inpatient, or outpatient therapy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients in inpatient, outpatient, and short-term rehabilitation settings
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving daily living and functional independence
  • Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans and home exercise programs
  • Document accurately and timely in the electronic health record
  • Maintain a strong focus on patient safety, quality outcomes, and patient experience
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental training
  • Adapt to varying patient volumes and care needs across settings
  • Support a team-oriented and collaborative rehab environment
