About The Position

Thom Child & Family Services in Waltham, MA is seeking a licensed Bilingual Occupational Therapist/OT to join their team. This role focuses on providing home and community-based early intervention services to infants and toddlers (birth to 3 years) with developmental delays or at risk, and their families. The therapist will partner with parents/caregivers to deliver individualized, meaningful, and evidence-based services, prioritizing families' priorities, needs, culture, and values.

Requirements

Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professions.
Knowledge of family systems and early childhood development.
Ability to engage in meaningful, therapeutic relationships with children, parents/caregivers, and community partners.
Commitment to delivering individualized and culturally humble services.
Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
Abide by all confidentiality and professional boundaries standards.
Good computer skills as well as strong documentation skills.
Current driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Fluency in Spanish language or Portuguese required.

Experience with infants, toddlers, and families is preferred.

Responsibilities

Participate in multidisciplinary team assessments of the client’s developmental status.
Assess family and child strengths/resources, concerns, and progress.
Provide child and family centered services and activities developmentally appropriate for children birth to three and their families using parent coaching model.
Provide service coordination by scheduling, developing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating the intervention plan for each family, ensuring that appropriate procedures and timelines are followed.
Partner with families in the development of Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs) to identify goals, objectives, and strategies related to the child’s development.
Facilitate parent-child interactions to encourage child's development; assist families to act as advocates for their child.
Complete progress notes, reports, assessments, and correspondence as appropriate using the Thom electronic documentation system.
Provide individual and group intervention for infants and toddlers from birth to three years old who have developmental delays or who are at risk for delays in the areas of cognition, adaptive behavior, social-emotional development, self-care, fine motor, gross motor, and communication.
