Occupational Therapist - Temporary
About The Position
YAI is hiring a temporary Occupational Therapist to cover a team member on leave for an expected 3–6 months, beginning in late December or early January. The role evaluates, plans, and provides occupational therapy services for pediatric and adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Occupational Therapist provides training on home therapeutic programs and assistive devices, documents services in electronic health records, meets productivity expectations, and participates in scheduled supervision, patient communication, and interdisciplinary coordination of care to help improve the quality of life of the people YAI supports. The position is scheduled Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 9:30 AM to 7:00 AM as written in the posting, Wednesdays for an administrative/remote day with flexible hours, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Compensation is $68,139 per year.
Requirements
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of New York.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program approved by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of Occupational Therapy experience in a healthcare setting working with individuals with intellectual and developmental delays.
- Ability to work effectively with limited on-site supervision.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, plan, and provide occupational therapy services for pediatric and adult individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
- Instruct and provide training on home therapeutic programs and/or assistive devices to eliminate or reduce areas of deficit.
- Complete contemporaneous documentation using electronic health records.
- Meet productivity expectations.
- Participate in scheduled supervision.
- Communicate with patients and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team to help improve the quality of life of the people supported.
