Requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required
  • In some cases, Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check
  • In some cases, Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)
  • Proficiency in computer skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred
  • Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted
  • Clinical experience is an asset in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
  • Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development
  • Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills
  • Bilingualism - French and English are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate a safe, timely, and sustainable return to work for employees after injury, illness, or disability by analyzing the intersection of the worker's functional abilities and the job's demands.
  • Evaluate the worker's physical, cognitive, and psychological functions, as well as job demands and workplace environment
  • Develop tailored plans to help workers return to their pre-injury roles or alternative work.
  • Design personalisedprograms to enhance job readiness, promotephysicalhealthand increase the chances oflong-termemploymentsuccess
  • Perform clinical evaluations, provide exercises, functional tasks, and cognitive strategies (e.g., pacing, energy conservation) to address injury-related deficits.
  • Teach techniques like mindfulness, relaxation, and sleep hygiene to manage pain, fatigue, and emotional distress.
  • Provide education to the client and employer about the recovery process, the benefits of staying connected to work, and their roles in the plan.
  • Provide tailored support through work simulationactivities andwork conditioning programs
  • Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
  • Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment
  • Exhibit sound professional judgment
