About The Position

Texas Health is seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our Therapy Services team on a PRN basis at Texas Health Ft. Worth. This role supports a Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Ft. Worth community since 1930. You will be part of a supportive team of over 40 Occupational Therapists in an acute care trauma hospital, focusing on inpatient care. Responsibilities include assisting with splinting and wound care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program Required
  • No Experience required – new grads are welcome!
  • OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License Upon Hire Required
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Problem-solving ability; Ability to teach others.
  • Time management skills; Good interpersonal and customer service skills, Basic leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Performs age-appropriate patient assessment and establishes plan of care.
  • Uses therapeutic treatment techniques appropriate to patient age and desire for treatment.
  • Educates patient and family through instruction, demonstration, and/or appropriate handouts in treatment plan, safety issues, home programs/self-management and assistive equipment.
  • Documents all aspects of assessment, plan of care, and re-certifications in accordance with departmental, TJC, Medicare, and other applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Works in partnership with peers, other disciplines, and departmental personnel.
  • Focus on Daily Living Skills, Mobility and Cognition of patients.
