About The Position

As an Occupational Therapist at Lifemark Physiotherapy Mayor Magrath in Lethbridge, you will contribute to enhancing the health and well-being of Canadians by providing comprehensive, evidence-based occupational therapy services. This role involves working with a diverse client base, including those recovering from motor vehicle accidents and workplace injuries, as well as supporting veterans, Canadian Armed Forces members, and first responders. The position emphasizes a holistic approach and collaboration within a diverse and inclusive team environment.

Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities, and scope of practice; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province.
Newly Licensed Graduates are accepted.
Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle may be required.
Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (in some cases).
Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months) (in some cases).
Proficiency in computer skills.

Nice To Haves

1-3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred.
Clinical experience in areas such as brain injury/neurological rehabilitation, mental health, musculoskeletal/orthopedic injury, home safety, ergonomics and/or return to work.
Passion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional development.
Superior interpersonal relations, communication, problem-solving, time management, computer and documentation skills.
Bilingualism - French and English are assets.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive, evidence-based Occupational Therapy services to clients.
Apply clinical expertise in assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow-up.
Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, and specialized seating and positioning assessments.
Identify and recommend appropriate equipment needs.
Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete funding applications.
Provide education on seating and positioning, activities of daily living, wheelchairs, and adaptive aids.
Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls, and injury prevention.
Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart.
Excel in a collaborative, inter-disciplinary team environment.
Exhibit sound professional judgment.
