About The Position

The Occupational Therapist will provide home healthcare services to patients in Mahoning and Columbiana Counties. This role involves assisting physicians in evaluating patient function, conducting comprehensive assessments (including OASIS), and developing/implementing occupational therapy programs. The therapist will also educate and counsel patients and families on the therapy program and communicate regularly with physicians. The position utilizes Roger AI, an application designed to streamline documentation, allowing therapists to focus more on patient care.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an Occupational Therapy school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the A.M.A. in collaboration with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Must be licensed by the state.
Must have at least one year of institutional experience.
Must have a criminal background check.
Must have current CPR (BLS) certification.
The ability to drive.
Ability to access patients' homes which may not be routinely wheelchair accessible.

Nice To Haves

Preferably should be a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Responsibilities

Assist the physician in evaluating the patient's level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic procedures.
Conduct initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments of the patient's needs, including Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) assessments.
Assure that the physician's orders are appropriate and discusses necessary changes.
Teach, supervise, and counsel the family and patient in the total Occupational Therapy program and other related problems of the patient at home.
Communicate with the physician on a regular basis regarding patient's status, obtaining additional orders, if necessary.
