Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an approved school of Occupational Therapy.
  • Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state in which he/she currently practices.
  • A minimum of one-year experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skill in current therapy practice.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license and automobile liability insurance.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, evaluate, and provide therapy services to clients in various senior living communities, including assisted living and independent living facilities.
  • Provide therapy services to patients within assisted living facilities.
  • Provide 1:1 patient care.
  • Follow each patient from start to discharge.
  • Collaborate with the assisted living facility's wellness team daily to maintain strong communication and continuity of care.
  • Help patients with debilitating conditions improve their ability to perform everyday tasks.
  • Develop patients' daily living skills and basic motor functions.
  • Compensate for any loss of function a patient may be experiencing.
  • Administer skilled care to clients requiring intermittent professional services.
  • Teach the family and other members of the health care team.
  • Perform services in accordance with physicians' orders and the established plan of care, under the direction and supervision of the Branch Director.
