About The Position

Life Care Centers of America facilities operate as Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) that provide long-term care for residents requiring ongoing skilled support and compassionate daily assistance, as well as short-term, sub-acute rehabilitation for patients recovering from surgery, illness, or injury. Therapy professionals will help patients achieve functional progress and improve quality of life within a supportive, patient-centered environment. The OT - Occupational Therapist provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.

Requirements

  • NBCOT certified upon hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT).
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State.
  • Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.
  • CPR certification must remain current during employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail.
  • Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times.
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility.
  • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance.
  • Concentrates and uses reasoning skills and good judgment.
  • Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Reads, writes, speaks, and understands the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year experience preferred.
  • Renewal of NBCOT certification is optional going forward.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral.
  • Follows occupational treatment plans for patients (i.e., activities of daily living).
  • Establishes, assesses, and modifies realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals.
  • Oversees and evaluates care given by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students.
  • Charts appropriately and timely.
  • Utilizes therapy software appropriately and accurately.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assists in the evacuation of patients.
  • Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate.
  • Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs.
  • Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.

Benefits

  • PRN Wage Range : $55- $60 DOE
