About The Position

Westview Healthcare Center, located in Sheridan, Wyoming, is seeking a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) to join their rehab team. This five-star facility, recognized for its excellent customer service and patient-centered care, offers a supportive, team-based environment focused on improving the quality of life for seniors. The community provides numerous outdoor activities and is near Yellowstone National Park. New graduates are welcome and will be supported through mentorship programs.

Requirements

  • NBCOT certified upon hire, but renewal is optional going forward.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT).
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and e mail.
  • Must demonstrate good body mechanics at all times.
  • Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility.
  • Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department.
  • Perform proficiently in all competency areas including but not limited to: patient rights, and safety and sanitation.
  • Sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct rehab care in occupational therapy to patients upon physician referral in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
  • Follows occupational treatment plans for patients (i.e., activities of daily living).
  • Establishes, assesses, and modifies realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals.
  • Oversees and evaluates care given by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and students.
  • Charts appropriately and timely.
  • Utilizes therapy software appropriately and accurately.
  • Exhibits excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
  • Assists in the evacuation of patients.
  • Demonstrates dependable, regular attendance.
  • Concentrates and uses reasoning skills and good judgment.
  • Communicates and functions productively on an interdisciplinary team.
  • Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate.
  • Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to adequately plan for patient needs.
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information.
  • Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures.
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training.
