About The Position

Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is seeking a Full-Time Occupational Therapist to join our growing Homecare team. If you’re passionate about helping patients regain independence in their homes, we want to hear from you! This role involves accepting and treating patients within your designated geographic area, providing 1:1 treatment, and developing individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs. The ideal candidate will deliver care that aligns with professional standards, agency policies, and the prescribed plan of care, while also educating family members and caregivers on proper therapy techniques. This position requires the ability to plan and carry out occupational therapy programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical function, relieve pain, and prevent occupational dysfunction. You will perform and document initial exams, evaluate treatment effects, and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. This role specifically requires willingness to treat geriatric patients.

Requirements

• Occupational Therapist Program Graduate
• Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of New York or eligible.
• Ability to travel to patients’ homes within the assigned geographic territory
• Strong communication skills between patients, support staff, and management, including timely responses via text, email, phone, etc.

Nice To Haves

• Home health experience is preferred but not required - We will provide you with a mentor to help with documentation and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Accept and treat patients within your designated geographic area
• Provide 1:1 treatment
• Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician orders and patient needs
• Deliver care that aligns with professional standards, agency policies, and the prescribed plan of care
• Educate family members, home health aides, and other caregivers on proper therapy techniques
• Plan, and carry out occupational therapy programs to maintain, improve or restore physical function, relieve pain, and prevent occupational dysfunction in patients.
• Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating the data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
• Provide timely and accurate documentation for each visit
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit
• Must be willing to treat geriatric patients.
