About The Position
IU Health is hiring an Occupational Therapist for its Occupational Therapy team at Methodist Hospital. This flat-rate PRN position provides occupational therapy services to treat physical and psychological dysfunctions. The therapist provides direct patient care through sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning. The role also supervises occupational therapy assistants, support personnel, and students, and participates in activities supporting patient care, education, and department operations. The position requires a master's degree from an accredited occupational therapy academic program, or equivalent foreign-trained education accepted by Indiana PLA. A current Indiana license and AHA Basic Life Support certification are required. Advanced life support certifications may be required depending on unit or department specialty and patient-care policies. NBCOT certification is preferred.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy, or foreign occupational therapy education with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
- Current license in the State of Indiana.
- Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
Nice To Haves
- Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Advanced life support certifications may be required according to unit or department specialty and patient-care policies.
