The Occupational Therapist evaluates and executes Occupational Therapy plan of care for patients in order to prevent illness and disability and restore function following an injury or illness. This role helps patients reach their maximum functional levels by utilizing techniques to improve physical health, prevocational skills, homemaking skills, activities of daily living, educational, recreational, and social activities. It also addresses associated sensorimotor, cognitive and psychosocial components. The therapist participates in professional development and continuing education to ensure compliance with licensure laws and performs related tasks as needed to ensure effective delivery of Occupational Therapy Services.
