Occupational Therapist PRN Acute Care
About The Position
St. Mark's Hospital is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide acute-care therapy that helps patients regain independence, confidence, and quality of life after illness or injury. The therapist delivers compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to each patient’s goals and capabilities, working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary care team. The role includes evaluating patients, developing individualized care plans, providing hands-on treatment, and supporting recovery through every stage of healing. The Occupational Therapist monitors patient progress and adjusts treatment plans as needed, documents care thoroughly and promptly, and educates patients and families throughout recovery. The position also involves coordinating with interdisciplinary partners to support safe environments and transitions of care, and providing guidance to therapy assistants or students. The role is PRN at St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Requirements
- Occupational Therapist (OT) qualification.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and needs and develop individualized therapy plans in coordination with physicians and the care team.
- Deliver skilled, evidence-based interventions to promote healing, independence, and quality of life.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust therapy plans as needed.
- Complete thorough, timely documentation that reflects quality outcomes.
- Educate patients and families to support understanding, confidence, and engagement throughout recovery.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary partners to support seamless transitions of care, safe environments, and exceptional patient experiences.
- Provide guidance to therapy assistants or students and uphold HCA Healthcare’s mission, values, and commitment to excellence.
