About The Position

Amedisys is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide home health services, helping patients heal in the comfort of their homes. The therapist delivers services under a physician-approved plan of care, ensures identified assessment problems are addressed or documents why they are not, and is accountable for the safety and effectiveness of occupational therapy services. The role includes timely and accurate documentation and supervising the home health aide when an RN is not active in the case. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Current occupational therapy license specific to the state of assignment.
• Graduate of an occupational therapy program accredited by ACOTE of AOTA, or a successor organization.
• Eligible to take, or have successfully completed, the entry-level occupational therapist certification examination administered by NBCOT.
• One year of related occupational therapy experience; candidates with less than one year require regional clinical leader approval and appropriate mentoring and/or an established residency program.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery under a physician-approved plan of care.
• Ensure the plan of care addresses all problems identified in the assessment, or document the rationale when identified problems are not addressed.
• Remain accountable for the safety and effectiveness of occupational therapy service delivery.
• Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Supervise the home health aide when an RN is not active in the case.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
