About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking Home Health OT for a 13-week travel/contract positions in Spokane, WA. We are accepting both local and travelers candidates. This position involves providing OT services to Home Health patients, delegating responsibilities to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides, and performing assessments, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures. The role requires evaluating patient function through formal/informal testing, developing goal-specific treatment regimes, submitting written treatment regimes, devising treatment schedules, and educating patients, families, and caregivers.

Requirements

  • Occupational Therapist: 1-2 years - Required
  • Recent/Current Home Health OT experience: 1 year within the last 3 years - Required
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and Personal Auto Insurance
  • OT License for State applying or Compact if applicable - Required
  • BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross - Required

Nice To Haves

  • Home Care Home Base (HCHB) charting - Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide OT services to Home Health patients
  • Delegate responsibility to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and Aides
  • Perform assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in accordance with occupational therapy standards, physician orders, and governing policies and procedures
  • Evaluate the patient’s function by performing formal/informal testing measures to determine the skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular status, developmental, social, and cognitive functions
  • Develop a goal specific treatment regime based on assessment data and the patient’s tolerance to carry-out the treatment plan as prescribed
  • Submit a written treatment regime to be included as part of the plan of treatment authorized by and coordinated with the physician
  • Update plan of care as needed to reflect changes in patient status
  • Devise a schedule of treatment, which is frequency and duration specific to be discussed with patient/family/caregiver and coordinated with clinical support staff
  • Educate patient, family, and/or caregiver regarding pathology or condition, patient alternatives, prognosis, and rationale for treatment through forms of rest, exercise, modalities, and other indicated interventions
