About The Position
The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to individuals and their families in a team relationship with other health care providers in a setting that is designated by the department.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy school.
- For cost center 6367 only: One to two years of clinical experience, within the past five years in an inpatient facility or home health agency.
- For cost center 6368 only: One to two years of pediatric occupational therapy experience or strong pediatric affiliation.
- Occupational Therapist License.
- BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Responsibilities
- Performs all functions associated with the evaluation patients for all age group within the department`s responsibility.
- Completes all documentation required within the regarded timeline according to department.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
- Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs. and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
